Andreas Daiber
Scientific Coordinator of MARKOPOLO
Prof. Dr. Andreas Daiber is a Chemist, Biochemist and Molecular Medicine Researcher with strong expertise in preclinical research on pathomechanisms of cardiovascular diseases. He made significant contributions to the field of redox biology and oxidative stress in the context of vascular biology and pharmacology. Since 9 years the research focus of his laboratory switched to environmental risk factor and cardiovascular health, namely the impact of transportation noise and air pollution in the form of particulate matter on pathomechanisms of cardiovascular diseases, also by adverse signaling via the brain-heart axis. He led multiple research projects funded by private/public funding bodies and the pharmaceutical industry. From 2014-2016 he was the Chair of COST Action BM1203 (EU-ROS). He is member of the Task Force Planetary Health of the German Society of Cardiology, since 2022 editor for Redox Biol. and since 1998 published more than 380 original and review articles in PubMed (h-index: 92; >26,900 citations, Research Gate). Since 4 years he is a highly cited researcher in the annual Clarivate reports.
Project Management
The Project Management Office (PMO) consists of the scientific coordinator UMC-Mainz, and concentris research management gmbh (concentris). Concentris is a modern German service company specialized in the organization, controlling, and dissemination of medium- and large-scale EU-funded projects within the FP7, Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe and IMI programmes. The team is well versed with EU regulations and is used to guiding consortia through challenges. From their longstanding, hands-on expertise in the management of EU projects, the project managers understand how to communicate effectively with all involved stakeholders.
